Fire cider is versatile so make it how you want however I always recommend adding in horseradish! It really gives it that special taste and effectiveness! 🌿

The Canadian Herb Conference is happening soon! It has become one of my favourite times of the year. Being able to learn from so many amazing teachers and interact with other herb nerds from the comfort of home is such a pleasure. 🌻

This year is a little more exciting because I am teaching two workshops- Digestive System Herb Actions and Medicinal Benefits of Culinary Herbs. I will also be providing an update on the Herbalist Association of New Brunswick. 🌿

One of our favorites is this elderflower cordial recipe. It is so delicious mixed with carbonated water and would most likely make a great cocktail.

If you have harvest some elderflowers I definitely recommend making it- super easy and soooo tasty!

Herbs can be a great addition to your first aid kit; especially since most of them may be growing in your backyard!

Fresh nettles make the best pesto! I am so happy

Fresh nettles make the best pesto! I am so happy they are ready to harvest.

Here’s my recipe:

4 cloves of garlic
4 cups of nettle leaves
3/4 cup pumpkin seeds
1 cup nutritional yeast
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup olive oil

Blanch nettle leaves in boiling water for up to two minutes. Strain and cool.

Throw the pumpkin seeds, garlic, olive oil in food processor and blitz. Then add nettles, salt, lemon juice and blitz again. Lastly, add in nutritional yeast and blitz.

You may need to add more salt or lemon juice to suit your taste buds!!!
